About Me

Hello Friends

My blog, Donuts and Diapers is about creating happiness around myself and living life to the fullest. I strive everyday to find ways to make life easier and more full for myself and the people around me. My blog includes baby learning games and activities, DIY and crafts for different seasons and holidays, style tips, home organization tricks, and other things that I have found helpful to me. The blog will also chronicle my struggle to lose that dreaded baby weight, plan a wedding, and buy a house!

I have an 8 month old baby boy who is growing up so fast. I try to create fun games and activities to foster his development and keep him healthy and happy. Being a mom is really the greatest thing that has ever happened to me and I wouldn’t trade this craziness for anything in the whole world. He is absolutely perfect in every way.

I am a manager at a local bakery and have worked there for three years. I go to work at 3:30am everyday and start baking what seems like millions of donuts. I work with my fiancé, sister, and sister-in-law, so you could say it’s a family business, but I have a great team overall that feels like family, complete with our fair share of ups and downs. Creating a positive work environment for my employees where they feel valued is one of my goals everyday. My background in education sometimes results in me creating a classroom vibe, but it works!

I have a bachelors degree in Psychology and a Masters in Special Education.  I also have my teaching certification for 7-12 sp. ed. and social studies. I attended college at SUNY Geneseo and have extensive experience in classrooms but have chosen to take a break from the crazy arena that is the education department of New York State.

I have been engaged to my wonderful other half since 2014 but with the surprise pregnancy we are just getting around to planning the wedding now, and we are planning on buying/building a house this year as well. Its a big year for us!

All in all, life is what you make it! My motto is CARPE DIEM, and that’s what keeps me going (: Follow my tips and tricks and carve out your own slice of happy too.
